  • This proposed hangar for the company AmiriFlight, Abu Dhabi,is designed to accommodate two AirbusA380 wide body planes, each with a wingspan of nearly 80 m. While stationed in the hangar, the aircraft are cleaned and serviced. A strategic decision was to place a large portion of local storage onthe first and second floors of the shed, around the entire circumference of the hangar. This storage position reduces the vertical movement of goods and seats in the phases of assembly and disassembly. The metal casing of the hangar includes 14,000 m2 of total space. Economic efficiency was vital to the design of the overall structure. Not an exceptional gesture, but an optimization project that fits as closely as possible to the configuration of two Airbus A 380.
  • Ce projet de hangar pour la compagnie Amiri Flight, à Abu Dhabi, est conçu pour accueillir deux Airbus A380 gros porteurs, d’une envergure de près de 80 m. Durant leur séjour dans le hangar les avions sont désossés et nettoyés. Un choix stratégique a été de positionner une large partie des locaux de stockage au 1er et 2e étages du hangar, sur toute la périphérie. Cette position des magasins permet de réduire les mouvements verticaux de marchandises et de sièges lors des phases de montages et de démontages. L’enveloppe métallique du hangar englobe ces 14 000 m2 de locaux au total, et se gonfle ainsi d’une épaisse ceinture sur trois de ses faces extérieures. La structure a été globalement conçue dans un souci de rentabilité économique. Pas de geste exceptionnel, mais une optimisation du projet qui vient s’adapter le plus exactement possible à la configuration des deux Airbus A 380.
